Today folks, I am suffering badly. I got that "once a day" factor 20 in Aldi. Lay out for less than 2 hours in semi cloudy skies yesterday.  Today I'm funking scalded. Blisters coming up an all. I'm going to write a strongly worded letter to them Kents.

that Jeff Dunham cracks me up. Achmed and Walter are feckin brilliant. Eileen has come downstairs to me at 2 in the morning cos I am keeping the house awake with my daughter at those. Reg, go on YouTube and search for Jeff Dunham Achmed. Funniest ventriloquist act I've ever seen

Photo of camper van, its bleeding! Not quite as many wounds as I thought to be fair, only two holes on this side. Reg will know where I nicked the hub caps from.   Bottom left you can see part of the hole I dug for the new drains.

Old Merc hub caps look good and are stainless steel, I have 1 set left with the middle bits painted white,
Getting rare and expensive now, but make an old Hymer look much better,
The seams on old VW's are impossible to cure of rust, the square type 2 campers are the worst,

I thought the seams were going to be much worse, a mixture of some sort of mastic and filler came out when I got to work with the grinder. Now treated with Jenolite and the red oxide is just to protect it for the time being. Probably use filler but it wont last forever. Perhaps I should paint it brown?
Got the hubcaps off ebay, 5 for £20 delivered. They wouldnt fit! Not deep enough. As I had five I thought I would try and bash one out with a rubber mallet and if it didnt look too good I could sell the other 4. As you can see it turned out ok. The only other wheels you can put on these are Transit alloys but they are bigger and only look nice if you keep them clean. These are stainless steel so just a wipe then. I removed the Rover badges from the centre but I can get some VW ones for peanuts along with some VW mudflaps to protect it a bit. Got some nice brand new 50mm chrome sidebars for it too off ebay. Think they were from Isuzu or summat. Looks like an easy fit as well. Will look the dogs bollocks I hope. fingers crossed The longer I keep this the more I love it, got used to no turbo, no power steering and wind up windows now. The brakes are somewhat better than the Panda though, you have to stand on them feckers! Jeez.
