Today Mathew It's been another one of them days where you just wish you hadn't feckin bothered getting out of bed,,, well actually I was still in bed when it all started to go a bit tits up, tits up being the appropriate words. There I am contemplating the day ahead then "Splat",,, I knew exactly what had happened cos it was the exact same noise as Annie made when she disappeared between the single beds, she'd been having her morning shower and went tits up on the slippery when wet tilled floor,,, the moaning noises were enough to get me out of bed to confirm what had happend, sure enough there she was looking like a beached whale on the toilet floor, I ask her if she's ok, she said after the initial fall she felt OK but then suddenly she got this horrendous pain in her head and was seeng stars,,, being an engineer I immediately worked our what had happened, Reg for some odd reason stores the iron on a shelf above the bathroom wash-hand basin, and being an engineer on first seeing it there I thought that's gonna end up through the basin one day, well anyway back to current events,,, what's obviously happened is when Annies going tits up she's grabbed out to get hold of anything to prevent her fall, unfortunately it was the iron cable,,, so shortly after she hit the floor the iron hit her on the head... So it's of to the hospital again (arggghhhh), doc says mild concussion and its luck that it was the flat base of the iron that twatted her or stitches would have been required...
On the way back from the hospital we dropped in to my abogado (solicitor) over here, she advised we peruse the injury claim in the UK as the business transaction of renting the apartment took place there, but she did ask was there a sign in the bathroom warning that the floor would be slippy when wet, I said no, she says good because if there were it would lesson your claim...
Taking her words on board I then dropped in to C C Abora to get a "Slippy When Wet" sign, well Reg, you don't want every Tom Dick or Harry suing the pants of you do you, but unfortunately they only had them in Spanish, so I've ordered you one in English and given them your phone number so they can let you know when it's in stock, but my trip to C C Abora wasn't wasted as I needed some Evo-Stik, unfortunately before the iron hit Annies head it made contact with the sink, it only took a little chunk out of the corner and I've got most of the bits so I'll glue them back together best I can and if I find the couple of missing pieces I'll do them too if I have time before we leave.
On the bright side of it Reg, due to the iron hitting Annies head first rather than the floor it's still working ok, plus I got a VAT receipt for the glue...
