Reg, you're pretty near this lot aren't you? [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] River Aire has burst it's banks apparently.

He is, but that's where Leeds Rhinos ground is. He lives just off Kirkstall Lane...

I was born down by the Aire at Commercial road traffic lights, Its the leisure centre now, that turns into Kirkstall road going into town, Our cellars flooded on a regular basis, so its not a new happening, They opened the new shopping centre in December.   you come up kirkstall lane to where i live now next to the cricket ground, whoever dishes out the planning permission wants shafting
Subway and lidl and KFC all have new submerged units now,
If you google commercial road Kirkstall lane circa 1955 you will see the old Midland Bank with a shop next door, we lived above and behind it, an old police station was across the road, we nicked their coal to keep warm It was manned by 2 coppers, when they went out we rushed over the road with a pram and filled it up   Never catch us alive copper
