I have never looked upon Tenerife ,especially the south ,as a beautiful island and this video ,in my opinion confirms this, scrub land and concrete is all I can see, don't get me wrong we love our annual visit in the winter and wouldn't miss it for anything, well maybe Madeira.

No soil there since last big eruption so don't think there is any chance of greenery ( not in the south anyway).

There is plenty of green after rain, but as we don´t get much rain then the land is invariably barren.  You take your pick, great weather all year round (except today) or green fields.

I've been up there...had to tow Mermaid behind me, she's not a very good "hill" type of person! Views are great, and yes, there's plenty soil it's water there's a shortage of.

How could there be plenty of soil if it was covered in lava?? ( I think we may have had this discussion before and Paul  may well have told me that I'm wrong! )

Volcanic soil is very fertile innit. I like them water rice paddy fields in China...[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
