Recall the first pizza I ever tasted, out the chippy it was, deep fried, came complete with a litre of liquid fat in it, yum...

Was looked upon as being very continental ordering pizza and chips around where I came from...

When we were kids, it was lard that was used to make our chips. Pre deep-fryers innit. Lard was used in the frying pan too. I'm surprised I'm still alive!

Feckin driveshaft fell off my van today. Its stranded in Loughrea @ 10 miles away. At least I think its the drive shaft. There is a load of banging when I rev the engine and slower banging when its idling. Insurance company wont answer the bloody phone so I don't know if I'm covered for emergency breakdown or not. If not, I will have to pay for it to be towed on Monday.

Today Mathew I'm surprised I'm not having a hangover,,, ended up twatted yesterday, it's always a problem when United are playing the 12:45 kickoff slot,,, after the match (3pm) a bunch of us met up in a pub called The Ducie Bridge, it was its last day, getting knocked down ( [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ), it's one of the pubs in our pool league, the team are moving venue to the Snooker Club just up the road, pub was a bit of of a music venue so had a few bands on for its last day, we were sitting outside it was a scorcher, last I can remember was getting a round in, thirty odd quid it was, then calling Annie to pick me up, I knew I was twatted, wasn't just the drink, I'd only had eight or nine pints by this time, think it was a combination of the beer and painkillers I'm on for my knee, I was well gone,,, does say on painkiller packet not to take with alcohol, so I had a sip of water to get them down,,, last thing I remember was Annie coming in with fish and chips for the family, recall the fish was yum,,, then it was morning..........

Oh dear, just remembered think it's Mozfest next weekend,,, that's a two day music festival in the Angel pub car park, just round the corner from the Ducie Bridge, suspect it's days are numbered as well, shitty old building sitting on a prime city centre location,,, anyways Mozfest is usually on over the bank holiday weekend, loads of local bands, normally Sunday and Monday, but there was talk of doing it Saturday and Sunday this year, need to check that one out,,, note to self, keep off the painkillers...

This is a snippet of last year's, weather spoiled it, it was freezing both days plus pissed down with rain on the Monday...

Yesterday I took Freddies little learner car for MoT and it passed of course.   So I have booked in camper van for Monday. My confidence is not so high on this, its not been used for 5 years but Patsy has a day off work for Freddies birthday, hes 20 ffs! So I can leave it for repairs if neccessary. May well be brakes, I managed to break 3 bleed nipples last week on it, but it does now have brakes,,,,,, of sorts.   Got the insurance for it today, £212.50p fully comp. I like being old...... Credit where credits due, it was Adrian Flux brokers that provided it. 365 days free European cover too! Could be the cheapest way to Tenerife then....... I see Ryanair have had their knuckles rapped today. Like they care.....

Well, I am absolutely gobsmacked,,,,,, it passed. Not only that but with NO advisories.    The last MOT it had was in 2008.

Just tried it with small salad potatoes. Not bad, but haven't got the mojo sauce to go with them. I'll try that on the weekend.

We've to take Brodie to book class...he's only 8 months old but we're hoping he'll know all Shakespeare's sonnets by heart before he's 1.

We have had about six of those carvery places open up near us in the last couple of years and without exception every one is pants, one of my old chefs took over one of them as head chef, said to Val "Colin won't stick this dump for long " he lasted 2 months, he said everything was either frozen or deep chill, he was gutted when he found out I knew he worked there, one or two will close soon as there is so much competition to sell crap.
