Liam reilly, the guy who wrote this died yesterday. Only 65. Just never woke up. This song was an anthem for Ireland in the 1980's, a shithole of a country, mass unemployment, huge emigration, and the catholic church still trying to cling to power. BUT, change was in the air and this song encapsulated all the despondency and the hope that followed. Think Cam and Reg in particular like it.

Can't remember name of hotel it was twenty odd years ago, but was between Ha'penny Bridge and O'Connell bridge north side of river,,, this is clip from your video, I think it the black fronted one on right of picture,,, was big, had a dance hall/stage etc...
