    Bus Timetables

    Post by 3rdforum on Tue 3 Mar 2015 - 15:48

Does anyone know how to read the timetables at bus stops? Do they show the time that bus arrives at the stop or the times they leave the terminus? I remember getting confused at the ones on Golf Del Sur and I ended up getting the departure times from the TITSA website and guesstimating how long it would take to get to my stop.

The time on the bus stop is the one you want. However, they can be a bit early, rare, or a lot late.   The timetables for Golf del Sur are even more confusing, as its a one way system you have two timetables for each number bus, basically you need to know if you are going north or going south. Its a tourist nightmare and of course its in Spanish, the summer timetable is different too sometimes, the Spanish word for summer starts with a V so theres a small clue for you. Also can be different on Sundays, starts with a D and Saturday, starts with a S (I think), and then you have Fiestas on a very regular basis so if the bus doesnt arrive its safe to assume its a Fiesta day where you will also find the Mercadona that you were planning to visit will also be closed....... Yes I have done it, up to Chafiras and then back again with no shopping at all.
Anyway now you know, clear as mud innit?

The only time we have had problems with bus timetables was in G,D.S. ,every where else seems to be fine mas o menos

May have something to do with that roundabout at Chafiras, can be a nightmare up there at busy times. I have noticed they change the drivers every few weeks so its not their fault is it. Luckily there arent many Germans on GDS so I doubt they get many complaints. Gives you a chance to chat at the bus stop anyway, shame they are all pensioners but hey-ho.

Only 60 me, 5 years to go. Dont know how you pensioners find the time. Today I have painted a ceiling, took Freddie to Physiotherapy, went shopping in Lidls where they are selling crash helmets for £19.99 so I bought one. Had to try it out and also the bike I have fixed up. The bike worked fine, I didnt fall off and neither did the crash helmet so another productive day then.
