I had a mini, traded it in for a new Mayfair which I loved, metallic blue, then traded that for Paddy Hopkirk's Peugeot 209 1.9 gti, I liked taking on the boy racers at the traffic lights and always won. Then traded that for an MX5. which I kept until we moved here.

Janets not allowed to drive , cant be falling over while at the wheel, She wasnt that fussed really,
Narrow wheels was the norm, look at the E Type ?  Vivas were never a good looker Viva reborn! 1498946960
Minis used to rust before they hit the showroom , I can understand why BL failed,
Mazda MX5's were and still are the best ever,Except with a bloke behind the wheel. not a good look,
I dont mind driving my MG because its a classic, people look at the car not me Viva reborn! 3025408739 , Transport

Loved that car, really felt the biz with the grey leather interior when the roof was down. The only reason I bought it was I went to M&S to buy a plain white t-shirt for work. Called into the MG garage next door for a look around and the guy wouldn´t talk to me, he kept trying to sell a car to Jim, so we walked out. I was then driving home and spotted the MX on a forecourt, I hadn´t even been planning on changing cars. But what the heck !!

The Viva was never a looker but its nostalgia innit. My grandad had one. It was purple. I think it was the hubcaps that made the wheels look odd.

I remember years ago before we had kids, when we had money, we were talking to a barman in our local one night and he had an MX5. Eileen eventually got him to give her first refusal on it if he was ever going to sell. She knew loads of technical stuff about it. I nearly fell off the stool!

Thats a good one, they have rules now, certain vehicles are not allowed, plus you have to have a stick on rear view mirror for the examiner, thats a new one since I used to do it as a living, guess thats just in case they have employed someone who cant move their friggin neck..... Going back to the Viva, just as well the wheels/tyres were thin, drop the clutch and if the wheels didn't spin it was the gearbox main shaft that went twang....
