Long keel runs the length of the hull pretty much Cam. It needs 4 feet of water to move. The fisherman has a dog called Scud, Patch was trying to shag him but he was a bit bigger.  Yacht Carina in her new home. 1498946960  Landing stages owned by Skegness Yacht Club so I am a new member now. It is in fact about 3 miles South of Skeggy at Gibraltar Point nature reserve, its a bit bleak but looks nice enough in the sunshine.

I have heard many tales of boats getting marooned in the danger area Reg, give it time. You can just see the twisting channel in white, its marked with spikes on top of scaffold poles, if you can see the scaffold poles there is about 4 foot of water to float on. Looks like mine can only move on spring tides over 6m.

Not very long but depends on the tide height. Best to go out on one tide and back on the next, like 9+ hours so best I wait until we get more daylight next Spring seeing as the channels not lit. You get a window of a few days once a fortnight but it does vary. Moons fault I believe. Yacht Carina in her new home. 3025408739  When I took it in I had a window of 10 days and did it on the fifth, the tide was actually over the walkway on the landing stage, didnt know I had to bring wellies!

I believe an average tide Ebb to flow is around 6.15 mins including the rest period, (tide high or low, BEFORE THE TURN). Thus the tide changes by roughly one hour everyday...if I remember correct about 57 mins per day in the South. Tidal changes are varied throughout the world and some places only have one low and one high per day, even some wait months for either. So where does the water go at low tide.

Not long enough to bait the line let alone catch anything, not that I'm very good at that anyway. Used to get a good 3+ hours at Wells on any tide. Yes Kev, 2 high tides per day, roughly 12 and a half hours apart. I assume the water goes westwards like the moon but thats just a guess. Ask Galileo. Or Brian Cox.
