Like the one of the Wallace Monument. Is that the refinery where all the strike trouble was a few months ago?

That was the one Dermo. I've gave up on apples and moved to strawberries, (they make less of a splash!).
I'm starting to get the hang of it...

What kind of a camera have you? Mine has to autofocus so I'm not able to take a shot like that ( at least I don't think so. I must actually read the manual )

I've got a Canon EOS 1100D Dermo. If yours is a digital SLR and you can change the lenses, look on the side of your lens and it will have a wee switch which can be set to AF (auto focus) or MF (Manual focus). You have to be in manual focus for shots like that. Even more complicated, you have to pre focus before you take the shot, so I had Trish hold a ruler upright in the bowl of water which I focused on first, (camera is on tripod), then when I dropped the strawberry I knew it would be in focus. You also need a fast shutter speed (as Reg kindly pointed out), something between 1/200 and 1/400 of a second. I also had a torch angled on a cushion pointing at the bowl to give more light as well. Feckin' complicated taking a picture of a strawberry!    Oh, and I had a black jacket on a coathanger behind the bowl so there would be no background clutter!

I took my first practice night shot out the window last night...

...again this is on manual settings with the shutter open for 8 seconds.

I know 2 professional photographers, Its like watching paint dry before they press the button,
I had some done in sepia of an old car, Blady thing nearly run out of petrol before he captured some shots,   Totaly different ball game between indoor stills and outdoor action shots,
    You heard it here first

Blu tack cost my stupid brother £2,5 million
Kept deposits from students for leaving it stuck to the wall
Leeds uni stopped sending him students, He then couldnt pay the bank
They took 10 houses back worth more than that, He still says he was in the right,
Maybe he was, but students are students, live with it, take the money, keep your gob shut,
    What a NOB,
