The Bull Shit Thread... Empty The Bull Shit Thread...

Post by Adam Mint on Mon 14 Oct 2013 - 2:47

Threads inspired by two things, there's a guy called Dave Gorman got a programme on the telly at the moment, can't remember what it's called, but he calls in to question statements made in adverts, popular myths etc, programs shit, drags subject out to long, kills it,,, but have just watched an advert for eggs, it stated "Happy hens lay better eggs", well do they they!!! I look at the price, six for X price, twelve for Y price or fifteen for Z price etc, weigh up the best deal and buy it, for feck sake it's something that came out a hens arse...

So do the happy hens have a better lay...

And, how the hell do you tell if a hens happy, ok, a dog gives you a bit of a clue, tail waging, jumping up and down etc, but a hen ???

Oh, and I have had personal experience, uncle had a farm, when holidaying there one of the jobs was to feed the hens and collect their eggs, never thought to ask them if they were happy, but recall one saying this is a better job than my cousins got working at that Matthews place...

I've never seen a hen in Tenerife, yet every restaurant on the Island serves chicken! Must be chicken sheds somewhere.

This is part of an email I received from Oneleg yesterday, they went to Puerto for an overnighter and had a meal in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] which is nice and they have lots of animals wandering around (Reg you would like it they have donkeys) as well as ducks, rabbits and chickens.

...... Marc had Beers ...myself and Lin (for a change) stuck to water and soft drinks. As the bread came we where joined by a chicken ....who the waitress said in Spanish ..."Was Out Looking for Cock ! She loves COCK " Not sure its what she was meaning !!LOL

Another widely used statement he tested out was the one "don't send cash by post", you see it printed on most bills you receive, the implication being, don't trust postman Pat...

He got envelops where one side was a clear window, he put a fiver in each envelope and addressed it to himself, on two of the envelopes in one corner he wrote "Test envelope No:- 3726", his theory being, would the ones that looked as if they might be being traced be returned and the others not,,, all envelops we're returned, intact with money still in them...

He then repeated the test with tenners in the envelopes, again all were returned, intact, money still in them...

He then repeated the experiment a further two times, first with £20 notes, then with £50's, any gusses as to the outcome...

I saw that so know the answer. However I have had 2 things go missing this year with Royal Mail, both replaced by the senders but the point is there are plenty of thieves in that organisation.

As mentioned in another post, her brother was doing up his house, purchased some fancy stair lights from America, cost about three hundred pounds, they were to fit in to each step and change colour to give a rainbow effect, he comes home from work to find a note behind the door from a parcle company, cant remember which one but it was not the Royal Mail, saying a parcel had been delivered and left in his bin store, goes to bin store, no parcel... He contacts the parcel company, they say its not their problem, and that their terms and conditions with the sender is that if no one is available to recieve the parcel, it will be left in an appropriate place, which they say they did, they advise him to contact the sender as it should be covered by thier insurance, he contacts the sender, they deny responsibility, was  ping pronged back and forward for months, got nowhere, spent a small fortune on phone calls, looked at taking leagal action, but the complication of one company being Anerican, and proving who was actually liable ref the contracts would have cost a fortune, ended up purchasing different lights in the UK...

Back to the "Happy hens lay better eggs" statement in the adverts, well it would seem all EU hens should be happy, battery hen egg production was outlawed in the EU two years ago, so it's a bullshit advert...

Here's what the eggsperts have to say...
