Hawk, yeh had one, also had a super snipe estate, it belonged to Austwicks book shops in leeds, 70's, I had the pleasure of watching one of the 2 brothers vanish through a brick wall while trying to run backwards.clinging on to the super snipe

Austicks no W in it, i just had a gander to see if they are still about, Made a ton of money because of the university branch, Big contract for our little garage, petrol and all that.

Really? I'll probably try that and every one will laugh at me...

It was up on the ramps in the garage today. I'll have a shooftie tomorrow!

Ahh, unobtrusive petrol caps. Those were the days. Women drive now so they have to make them obvious.

Reg, you are da man! I even impressed the garage mechanics with that wee trick, they didn't have a clue that was where the petrol tank was...

Jeez, why is my head full of rubbish like that, Got to be 40 years since i had to fill one of them up,
We had a rubber tube across the fourcourt that rang a bell and whoever wasnt too busy had to serve petrol, but it was always a shot of red x and check the oil and water, blow up the blady tyres, today thats called a service and will set you back ? £160. old man Austick asked for his auto gearbox oil checking, "is it running and in park said i"
So he leans in the window and got reverse instead, which is why he went flying backwards and through the wall,
My then gaffer was one of the lads and he couldnt contain his mirth, he promptly wet his pants laughing, but out of site because he was a good customer,
    Happy days
