There is another rail bridge 200yrds on, so if he had got under this bridge he would be stuck under the next one!

This one was in Scottish news yesterday...

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-20082766

I know this bridge, some years back we had a driver taking a module for an oil rig from down south to Aberdeen, the driver decided to divert off the motorway as he had run out of fags, destroyed the oil rig module on this bridge on the way in to Inverkeithing, caused minor damage to bridge, our truck/trailer was undamaged, but it was our biggest insurance claim, road shut, bridge damage, module written off and the compensation to rail companies for disruption to services, plus further compensation for delaying the rig construction mega ££££££££.

What pisses me off about these type of incidents is the way the rail authorities go on about “bridge bashing” incidents when the technology is there to prevent such incidents, at notorious bridge bashing spots height sensors poisoned at the roadside detect over-height vehicles and activate traffic lights to stop the offending vehicle, simples... Some years back legislation demanded that notices be placed in vehicle cabs informing the driver of the vehicles height in a bid to stop such incidents, but when the drivers switched off.................

They've obviously passed a height indicator sensor which has activated the flashing lights on the bridge and they STILL hit the thing! What do they suppose those flashing lights mean? Disco ahead! Yet another numpty 3025408739
