If you fall off a jet ski the wotsit stops the thing, Like a key on a curly string thing, I mean you would be in a load of trouble if the jet ski kept running you over, Was it kirsty McColl that got killed ?,

Yes, she was on a private Island just of Mexico and some twat millionaire ran her over. There's still an ongoing dispute as the area his power boat was in was supposed to be for divers. They had their little buoy thing showing there was diving going on. Kirsty's mother is still trying to get justice...see here.

I went diving in Key Largo, They made you attach a line to your ankle and a big red flag followed you everywhere, One other bit of advice was "Dont go sticking you hand in any holes. Them Barracuda will bite your hand off ,

I've got one on my petrol lawn mower. If I keel over dead or something I let go off a spring loaded bar and the lawn mower stops and doesn't hurtle off down the road running over old ladies and those wee yelpie feckin' Yorkshire terrier doggies! (Hate them wee dogs...)

Dont worry Cam they're nowt to worry about really, just a bit painful round the ankles. Kill switch found on a lot of outboards, you are supposed to clip one end on your belt but restricts movement around boat so peeps dont bother. Lucky man, probably had waterproof personal radio.

When on holiday I would occasionally hire a jet
ski, one year where we were the hire company also hired out the scooter type
jet skis, that’s the ones that only take one person plus you stand upright on
it as there is no seat. The guy hiring them out ask have you ridden one before,
“yes” was my reply, a complete lie but no way was I going to be taught how to
ride a bike so to speak, so kitted up with life jacket off I set from the beach
heading out to the area marked with buoys to go round. I took to the thing like
a duck to water (maybe a bit premature with that statement), heading out to the
buoyed off area I recall thinking “no safety cut off cord/kill switch”, anyway
once out of the restricted speed area there I was off like a mad fu#ker tearing
around the circuit taking off from the tops of waves etc, was doing great, then
took off from one wave and ploughed straight in to the following one, it was
like hitting a brick wall (who says waters soft), right over the handle bars and
splat in to the sea, nothing hurt other than my pride I look around for the jet
ski, there it is in front of me engine putting away at tick-over and moving
slowly through the water, off I set swimming in pursuit, now if you have ever
tried to swim with a life jacket on you will know you don’t make good headway,
anyway, do you think I could catch up with the feckin thing, no, thoughts of
taking off the life jacket and making chase were going through my mind but
thought best not as I was know completely knackered, decided best job was to
wait and let the hire guys come rescue me. So, there I am bobbing around
waiting for the lazy twats to come and get me and guess what,,, the feckin jet
ski goes round in a big circle and comes straight back to where I fell off it,
the feckin propulsion nozzle (rudder) goes on to full lock when not being
steered so it just goes round in circles when you fall off, fu#k knows how many
circuits I swam before I was fu#ked, just hope I was far enough out for no one to
    see...
