    Giant Hogweed Infestation.

Post by Campbell Brodie on Sat 21 Jul 2012 - 9:43

Due to the recent horrible wet weather, this nasty plant is gaining ground rapidly!
    Courier

It can leave nasty burns when touched or broken..Giant Hogweed is a public health hazard as the toxins in the sap react
with sunlight/UV ray causing the skin to blister and severe scarring.

It's especially prevalent along railway embankments.

There used to piles of this stuff along the Clanrye river which runs through our town.
I think a few kids got a nasty doing from it when I was at school....haven't heard about it in years tbh.
