What's Your Top 3 Favourite Albums?

Post by Campbell Brodie on Sat 3 Sep 2011 - 16:46

Which album gives you the most satisfaction listening to it? There have been thousands made over the years so let's hear what one you like best. It will make other members aware of some they may not have heard of either.
In fact, put down your top 3 CDs/Albums!
After a few weeks, I'll take a note of them and compile a top 20 list or so and post it so members can see.

    Bump...

If your favourite album is the same as someone else's choice, that's OK as the whole point is to see which are best. If everyone is different, we won't have a top 20!
    So start posting.

This is hard as I love all sorts of music. The immediate ones that come to mind are

Paul Simon - Graceland I love every song on that album
George Michael - Songs from the Last Century
Willie Nelson - On the Road Again, bought it because I have travelled on the City of New Orleans which one of the songs is about.

i remember the first time i came to tenerife and City of New Orleans was one of the songs sung in the claddagh - pre gerry days.
i was singing it all the way home on the plane

But I agree, janitor even has the right tools for sorting out the forum admin.

Had not previously come across this thread until Dave revived, coincidence, just a couple of nights back was mucking around on utube music videos and played a few versions of “The City Of New Orleans”, almost posted one as music request, (Ended up posting Dixie Chicks instead, well, blonds, short skirts etc, no contest)...

First came across the song years ago on a Judy Collins album, also had the pleasure of seeing Johnny Cash sing it live.

Will have to think about the top three albums thing, I go through phases and each gets its revival.

    Great topic.

1- The Crossing by Big Country
2- This is the Sea by The Waterboys
3- Goodbye Jumbo by Wold Party

Could easily pick a top 10 in seconds.
