    The football was found behind paneling in the Queen's bedchamber in Stirling Castle which was decorated in the 1540s...[...more]

    Been to Stiling, sister got married there for a reason I couldn't fathom.

    Her better half ( matter of opinion) is from Dunblane.

    Get this :
    She's from Northumberland and lived in Cheltenham.
    He is from Dunblane and lived in Taunton
    They met in Bristol
    So they go married in Stirling and had the reception in Taunton 2 days later !!!!

    Now got 2 kids both with Scottish names Brodie & Alba, but there English she insists.

    Nowt against you good folk but just don't get all her giving in to all things tartan.!

    I think the Basques have something similar in some museum or other.
    Not really a "football" to be honest is it?...when the game we know as football didn't even excist.

    The first golf balls were leather skins stuffed with feathers and stitched, they were called featheries, for obvious reasons. Looked nothing like a modern golf ball but that's what they were.
