Saw this guy many a time, as a kid I followed speedway, Edinburgh Monarchs, also done cycle speedway and as such got priority to rake the track at the Medowbank stadium between raceces, free entry to meetings and ten shillings in the pocket,,, plus my cousin also raced so big in to it, oh he was shit, Berwick Bandits, all he was good at was breaking his bones,,, still does long track grass track, even at sixty odd he's pretty good, no brains apart from making it big to director level of a woroldwide electronics company,,, deal was, any time off he wanted to race,,, and he got it, bright spark he was (Pun intended)...

Not so many years back above cousin who lives Scotland phones me and says he's racing Preston area do I wanna come watch, so with current wife of the day we set off, meetings coming to an end, cousin says there's a spare pair of boots and overalls in van, I know what he means, so I start getting changed, wife's what you doing,,, there's allways a mechanics/novices race at the end of meeting, got second place, track was well rutted by end of meeting so only had balls to get bike sideways on second half off corners, still was fecking fun...

Don't get DJ's, our pool league trophy presentation night we normally have a DJ or Karaoke guy doing their bit, Karaoke is best, after presentation everybody's had a drink so all wanting to get on stage, and some are pretty good, but a couple of years back we were toiling to get a Karaoke guy so we're looking at a DJ, cost, a couple of hundred  quid,,, one guy says pub were having presentation (his local) has a great jukebox linked to internet so you can play almost anything on it and he's sure landlady will put it on free play for the night, and that's what happened, and the two hundred quid we normally pay out of our funds got the entertainment,,, we bought loads of booze as raffle prizes and all league team members got about five free,,, I came away with a bottle of Baileys,,, who needs a DJ...
