Hymer
When Patsy retires she gets big cash payout, cant remember how much now but its pretty substantial. What to spend it on? Just dreaming so I spotted this Mercedes Hymer on ebay: 263225146747. At just over 24' long its nearly as big as the boat! A couple of fenders towards the rear might be a good idea too as I can see I will be collecting cars in Tescos car park! Reckon it might make around 10k Reg. Worth that in my opinion but Patsy would probably disagree.......Ebay link

Re: Hymer
Looks tatty to me, the ceiling is dirty which could mean it has been lived in, the interior is wrong, the flooring is wrong, and judging by the mileage it hasnt been standing still much, and i think it will do more than £10k but Autumn is here so you may get a bargain, dunno,
If you want a nice motorhome experiance buy a nice motorhome, when you come to sell a nice Mercedes motorhome you will have a queue, good time to buy and come April a good time to sell,
that is a Garry Glitter

Re: Hymer
Right, too big anyway. Patsy still gainfully employed so I'll stick it on the back burner. Started poking at some rust spots on the T3 yesterday. I now have some rust holes!
Front panel just above the bumper. Very expensive and out of stock anyway that panel so a good practise area for my new Mig welder. Or I could just cover them up with a strip of led lights........

Re: Hymer
Truth is I wouldnt pay 10k either. That first one has surpassed that anyway. Pulled the dashboard pod off the T3 yesterday to find out why I have no oil light, generator light or temp guage. Miniscule nut missing from temp guage and rest was pcb board bad connections. No degree required. Battery is charging now but belt is screeching its head off. Not loose think its too narrow, I shall get the tape measure out. Put new passenger door handle on as well, it was siezed. Cost £14 delivered. I have spare bungee cord available now.
Dont think the early Merc Sprinters were bristling with too much silly technology so something based on one of those will do me nicely.

Re: Hymer
We ran 207D and 307D vans on intense stop start local delivery work, Merc dealer say new Sprinters coming out to replace the 207 and 307 do you want one in as a demo, no one turns down a free van for a week or two,,, oh dear, we had the new Sprinter van falling apart within days, silly stuff, seats breaking, doors falling off, door handles and catch mechanisms falling apart etc,,, so what I do,,, I phone round all the local Merc dealers and buy up any old stock of 207 and 307's they were sitting on, got them cheap as well,,, for years following I kept an eye out for any good 207 or 307's that came on the market and bought them up to replace the older transits we were phasing out of the fleet, the old Mercs could just stand up better to the punishment we gave them...

Re: Hymer
Mermaids getting interested, they would get lost in a Hymer wouldnt they?
Bedford Rascal Bambi would do them a treat.......... I have an antique Seat Terra disabled bus sitting in my yard, like Fiat Panda but bigger at back. Crying out to be converted it is......... Think its done about 32,000 miles. A 5 foot person could deffo stand up in it.
Ideal for a Scotsman I bet it does 45mpg, and this particular one even has a modern feature,,,,,,, servo assisted brakes! Perfect for the Highlands then.
