Well overdue a face lift, years ago during the summer there were concerts , dancing and general making a twat of yourself ,now it's only used a couple of times per year, access is the big problem .

No, access no problem, lots of gates to princess street gardens, never paid for seating on the pavilion, just to get in to gardens, just grew up with it, just don't change it...

Yeah, I'd go for the grass one too. Will the council pay to cut the roof every two weeks?

When I worked at 100 Princes St visitors in the summer would ask if the path behind the pavilion would take them up to the high street ,the answer was always yes but the gate was always locked at the top in the summer as they would be putting up the seating for the tattoo we would watch them climb all the way up and then have to come all the way back , good exercise for them  though

    Princes Street Gardens gates locked...

Back when I was in my early twentys plan for Saturday would be, oh should say pub opening times were 11:00 to 14:30 then 17:00 to 22:00,,, so lads would meet for a pint morning/afternoon opening hours, then for the evening we'd all meet up with wife's or girlfriends for Saturday night out... What some of the lads would do in the summer was once pub shut in afternoon they would head Princes Street Gardens and relax and watch the totty go by... Plans for the evening sesion were allways made at the morning one cos mobil phones didn't exist and few of us had house phones... Anyway all of us turn up for evening sesion except Ian and Cath, we have no way of contacting them, next time we see them this is relayed to us as to their no show:

Ian has fell asleep in Princes Street Gardens, rest of bunch head home, Ian wakes up, gates have been locked, back then they were locked pretty early, he climbs fence and goes tits up, manages to make it to bus, gets off bus can't walk, he's crawling to his house, wife Cath sees him, call kids to window, is giving them a lecture on the evils of drink "look at your dad, he so drunk he can't walk",,, Ian gets to door, she won't let him in, she's giving him shit for spoiling her Saturday night out, left him there for hours,,, eventually she opens door, it's an ambulance job, he'd broke his leg...
