Re: Culinary delight thread...
Industrial cook tonight, bolognese sauce, mega size this one I usually do it with a kilo of mince but Asda had an offer on so it made more sense to buy two packs of 650 gram mince, so 1.3 kilograms in the pot, hence its filled to brim, will turn some of it in to a couple of large lasangas, there will be 16 portions of lasangas and don't know how many portions of spagboll left over but a lot, most will be frozen,,, but that ain't even for tonight or tommorow,,, mussels in a red wine tomato garlic and onion sauce tonight with crusty bread to mop up the sauce, and peppers stuffed with chicken and red pesto topped with onion, mushrooms, tomato and cheese, served on tagliatelle with onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and red pesto mixed in with it tomorrow...
Cam, took two pictures of pot, first one with iPad upside down, second one with iPad correct way up, so how they look to you, both correct way up on my screen, note I have screen locked on I pad so may haye it locked wrong way up...

Re: Culinary delight thread...
So why is that, even with screen unlocked it's upside down, so to get it right way up I've got to take picture with screen locked and in upside down position as per this screenshot which shows camera instructions upside down would seem that's how I've got to take pictures to be right way up on forum, but on my iPad all look correct way up...

Re: Culinary delight thread...
Back to food,,, last nights mussel dish, could only get one bag of live fresh mussels at Asdas fish counter so bought one of their pre packet mussel dishes (mussels in garlic butter sauce) to pad meal out, so I servre it up as two dishes, my mussels in red wine, tomato, garlic and onion sauce and the Asda mussels in garlic butter sauce, I'm a bit worried should the pre packed Asda dish upstage my freshly cooked dish,,, the scores:-
My dish 10/10...
Asda dish 0/10...
Total inedible, the mussels a hard rubbery texture, the sauce a tasteless watery non event,,, anyone having mussels for the first time and purchaseing this pre packed product would never have them again,,, and the price, bag of fresh mussels is either a £1 or £1:50 can't remember which, the pre pscked shite £3,,, never again...

Re: Culinary delight thread...
Went out for lunch and found out the lassie in Matalan hadn't taken off a 15% discount after spending £250! Had a wee rump steak, medium rare, fries, onion rings, tomato and mushrooms and a pepper sauce. Not bad but it wasn't hot enough. Went back to Matalan and got £32+ credited to my account...don't feck with a Scotsman when moneys involved!

River boat innit. You can see land either side. Going down the Danube from Austria stopping off at Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest etc. and some different places on the return trip. Fly from Edinburgh to Amsterdam, then Amsterdam to Munich, then coach to Austria where our dinghy's tied up!
8 nights overall. This is our boat. We're in the Chopin mini-suite...
