Don't understand having a property that requires constant maintenance (external painting),,, Annie approx a year ago got her drive done, absolutely nothing wrong with old drive, ok so new one has fancy pattern in slabs,,, fancy pattern needs varnishing when shine wears off,,, WTF...

Was the yellow car yellow when you started

Apartment needs painting every 2 years because it fades with the sun, i do it before Janet gets out of bed and before the sun hits it at about 9am depending on the time of year, 2 hours approx

Funny you should mention sun tans, we went into town by bus and both Val and I noticed the difference in the population here compared to the views we get of London, Manchester etc , in comparison England looks like a foreign country. sad but true.

Yip, when I get bus home from pool or quiz nights it's very rare to hear anyone speaking or looking English on it, total melting pot, Africans, Poles, Chinese, Pakistanis, Spanish, various Eastern Europeans and a Scotsman (me),,, if you didn't know you were in England you wouldn't think you were...

Been out today to an MG meet. It was at the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum which is near Diss. Wow, what a place for us lads! Free as well! Spitfires, MIGs, Sea Harrier and everything in between. Even Sam missiles and some Argie stuff, no wonder they lost. Comes highly recommended.

Had 65mph out of mine once, probably a steep hill. Done speed when I was young. I now find I get greater satisfaction from doing 40 in a 60 zone and holding people up. lol!

Pool night tonight, remembering this thread on bus on way home I done a head count, I'm sitting downstairs, 15 passengers that I would say not of uk origine, one I would say possibly English, male, grossly overweight, shaved head covered in tattoos,,, mmmm, let me think...

Been a hectic few days. My dad was in hospital with a kidney infection. We refused to take him out when he was due to be discharged. A geriatric specialist declared him unable for independent living. We have him in a nursing home. Costing us a grand a week. He had a little while where he was back to himself. He said there was something wrong with him but he didn't know what. I think something clicked cos he started crying saying " What did I do so wrong to deserve this". This was once my proud stubborn , not suffering fools dad. It was ducking heartwrenching. On a more positive note, we are going to try to have that hitch calling herself my mother , sectioned.

Sounds all a bit familiar this, Annie's dad a year or two back,,, difference being they kept him in hospital for months when he was actually in a fit enough state initially to be in his supported housing home, but after more illnesses he needed constant care, after one health authority department ping ponging his case around for months he eventually ended up in a nursing home, he was never diagnosed with dementia but was in a different place most of the time, when he did switch on he said a few times, "I just want to die, don't like it here",,, he wasn't in physical pain but when switch on knew what was happening around him,,, think not knowing is a blessing,,, there were bills, but his pension/benefits covered most of it,,, thoughts with you.
