Re: What are you doing today??
So i put George who is 70 next in charge of the chainsaw, off he go's up the tree which was taller than the house, he never complains he just gets on with it, I said tie the ladder to the tree and dont let go whatever happens,
so when the tree fell the ladder and him was swaying about but he just held on, the rest of us from a safe distance just fell to the ground laughing.
And so the day went
Richard who is a year older than me was in charge of the fire, he went home with no eyebrows, I am aching with laughing, So we all got a bit of exersize and had a good time,, result, oh not to mention cheap labour

And so the day went

Re: What are you doing today??
George is the best mate i ever had, I must get on his nerves sometimes but he never lets on,
I must have mentioned the day on Windermere we had when he decided to learn how to water ski,
That would be late 70's, the funniest day of my life without doubt, how he never drowned i dont know

Re: What are you doing today??
About 1980, 6 of us bought a motor boat with trailer so we could go water skiing. Nobody had done it before, what a feckin' fiasco. Mermaid and me hadn't been together long we all went to Loch Lomond. Trish was terrified of water, Stewart, one of my mates carried her out to the boat screaming like a banshee!
Poor Stewart, had to get his legs amputated years later, in a wheel chair now.
I was actually quite good at it managed to get up when the boat started gathering speed and away we went!

Re: What are you doing today??
Trevor who bought the boat was a bit of a nutter, we called him danger man,
Well he was determined to pull George's arms out of their sockets, Trev just set off at full speed and George left the jetty like a rocket, George shouts a bit slower please, well he took no notice,
In the end George thought right blox and layed flat so he wouldnt go straight down
his legs spayed out and he vanished under water, I thought weve killed the kent, seemed like ages before he sufaced covered in silt and weed,

Re: What are you doing today??
My mate Stewart was like that, he couldn't get up on the skis no matter how fast the boat went. He'd end up head first with a big bow wave in front of him and we're all thinking Feck! He must have drowned by now!
Memories!

Just saw Mermaid off. Mischiefmaker and Brodie picked her up as she's staying at their gaff because of the 06:20 flight time tomorrow.

Re: What are you doing today??
Priced 2 jobs today. 2nd one was to paint hall, stairs & landing, but it turned out he wanted skirtings, architraves, bannister, spindles, dado rails, and decorative mouldings that make the wall lokk like wood panels. Feckin price trebled immediately
. He said he'll let me know, but I reckon his missus wants it done and he is pissed off trying to make the mouldings himself.
1st job is to paint an entire 4 bed house over 3 floors. Simple enough job to be honest. this guy is just after purchasing and wants to let it out asap. house is completely empty. He has a number of other properties and doesn't like Polish tradesmen so I'm hoping to get my feet under the rug. I did a deal with him for cash and the house is only 10 min away so I'm going to be a busy little bee

Re: What are you doing today??
Bought another Range Rover this morning but its a newish one, TD 4.4 V8 Vogue SE,
I havnt had time to faff with it, it looks like a space ship inside, things move when you get in it,
Seat, Steering wheel thats heated too, Keep the key in your pocket and just press the start button, then the control nob comes up out of the console, TV's in the headrests and wireless headphones so you can play station or watch tv or a video, Lexie set her seat with the memory button for number 1, wtf
hope it never go's wrong,
Got it off the accountant so he will be watching the bottom line
,
Bit more tree work next door and thats me done for the day
