Dont tell Carol but it only cost £300.

Year 2000. 92k miles. That was the only photo on ebay but if its fecked on the other side or the interior or hood is rough I will just walk away. Me and patsy will collect it from Essex (

) on Saturday. Owner says there is a water leak possibly from water pump but seeing as I would replace cambelt anyway as a matter of course not a big deal. Engines on these are all aluminium and if they overheat to extreme they melt! Apparently it starts and drives so...... Who dares wins. As I said its for Patsy, when she retires. She keeps bugging me for another VW Beetle but we have lost 3 of them completely over the years so its just not gonna happen. She can carry on commuting in the ultra reliable diesel Octavia Estate in the mean time, 216,000 miles now, drives like new! I'm just too kind.

Or is this the nearest thing I could get to a Frogeye Sprite I wanted when I was a teenager but the £200 price tag in those days was just pie in the sky. Or the £10k price for the feckers now! Of course what I really want is an E-Type soft top, but they cost more than a pad in Tenerife and then I will probably bend it anyway playing Stirling Moss! Strangely enough I was originally looking for a Jag XK8, modern equivalent to the E-Type??? But I'm not an auto electrician so sense has probably prevailed. Oh, and £5 a gallon.........
