Only one thing wrong with that. Dunkirk was the culmination of a defeat. Something us Brits tend to forget. It was a rescue mission. Vaguely successful. Maybe only possible by Hitler ignoring his Generals and pushing forward too fast without neccessary back up or, more likely, that many POWs would be a bit of a headache. Anyway that said, and even though he tried, Hitler never managed to beat us, never landed an army on our shores, Channel Islands excepted, and that was before the Yanks joined in. Smaller World now but we are still a powerful Nation, with 2 or 3 subs with enough power to wipe out an entire continent, serviced by our Scottish brothers of course, ready and waiting to be deployed ANY fecking where. Yep, been on the sherry again.

It's all about the optics. A lot of people feel that the EU was overbearing, whether this is true or not, it's the way people feel. Personally, I think successive UK governments did a brilliant job of deflecting their own ineptness onto Brussels. If Ireland had a vote, I would have voted out, not because of immigration or the French trying to dictate what our corporation tax is ( very important to Irish economy that), but they hung us out to dry when bailing out the banks ( unlike for example the Spanish who got 100 billion at no cost to the taxpayer ). In fact, I would vote to leave the Euro and cause a feckin' crash. See how the ECB likes that.

well, that's what I would like to do, but i would probably have to do a lot of info gathering first to make sure we wouldn't be shooting ourselves in the foot.

That subject was flagged last year. There will be a few more ripples in the sand as well. UK has to come to a deal with Ireland over the border before the trade part of the negotiations can begin. Rockall will probably have to be settled as there might be oil rights involved. We might well be seeing the disintegration of the UK. Don't think anyone that voted leave in England will lose much sleep over it. Win win for everyone from what I can see

Just in case BBC, Sky and other Tory dominated media outlets fail to mention it, here is a list of the Tory MPs who are being investigated by the police for fraud at the last General Election. Theresa May confirmed that they are all standing again this time. The Torys are less corrupt than others?

some say that is why she called an election, if they were convicted they would have to give up their seats with no re vote as the second person voted would automatically get it, this would have meant Tories lose majority and Labour would have become the new government without a general election........now that is a something to get yer teeth in
